Rumour had it that Google Nexus devices are the safest handsets and tablets to go for, due to Google’s loyal software support. After turning on our Nexus 7 tablet a couple of days ago, we can now tell you that those rumours are true! (because we hired a rumourmonger…sorry…we’ve been playing Persona 2 a tad too much).

After accepting the update, Mr Android made our day with his funky download and install animation (where he seems to give Iron Man’s tech a run for its money). As soon as the update finished and our Nexus 7 rebooted, it was time to have a play and find out exactly what Google’s minions have tweaked. But after scrolling through untouched settings and apps, we returned to our Nexus 7 dashboard and “AHHHHHHH!”. Our dashboard was in landscape mode!
