Windows Phone 7 – Xbox Live Games

Lets be honest, the main reason us gamers are drawn to Window Phone 7 handsets, is simple…Xbox LIVE! So you may have seen the adverts for HTC handsets, seen the bright green icon layout, marveled at the Xbox LIVE logo that sits snugly within the main icon menu, but what exactly does this mean…what exactly will this offer us gamers? The photo above, got a lot of heads turning at major events. The main attractions being Xbox LIVE and Netfilx. This pretty much spells out that games and movies will flood the new Windows Phone 7 handset. While Netfilx may change to Vuze in the UK, Xbox LIVE will remain the same. Lets get straight to the point and cover what we’ve heard on the new Windows Phone 7 handsets: Q: Is Windows Phone 7 an actual mobile or is it software? A: Windows Phone 7 isn’t an actual mobile itself, it’s more of a mobile operating system (like Windows 7 is to a PC). Well-known phone manufacturers will allow Windows Phone 7 to be installed “as standard” on their handsets. Q: What handsets currently offer Windows Phone 7? A: At the moment we’re mainly seeing HTC handsets for sale. Samsung and LG are manufacturers that have been announced (and shown) with Windows Phone 7 software running on them, but HTC 7 Mozart, HTC 7 Trophy and HTC HD7 are handsets that are currently available in the UK. Q: Does Xbox LIVE on the Windows Phone 7 mean games, or is this just an app to edit my Xbox LIVE profile? A: It means both! The Xbox LIVE app (pre-installed on all Windows Phone 7 handsets) will allow you to manage and update your Xbox LIVE profile and avatar. It will also allow you to download games and play them under your Xbox LIVE profile! Q: “Under may Xbox...

Dead Rising 2: Terror is Reality – Cash Matches Online!

Dead Rising 2 fans may have noticed slight problems with connecting to ranked matches in Terror is Reality. The online extra allows players to participate in a gory Gladiators-style game-show, which will see you up against 3 other players online, ripping zombie limbs apart for cash. Money now plays a major part in Dead Rising 2, as your characters daughter has been infected with the decaying virus and must receive regular doses of Zombrex. The drug protects against the zombie transformation, but only for 24 hours. To make things even harder, it can be quite difficult to hunt down zombrex without help and you’ll see yourself seeking-out pawn shops, in order to purchase the stuff. These stores may seem handy at first, but Zombrex doesn’t come cheap and in true Devil-May-Cry-style, it gets increasingly more expensive with every purchase! Terror is Reality (TIR) gives players the chance to win and build up cash. You can then cash-out after playing and add whatever amount you’ve won, to your latest (or any) single-player story save (just take a while to make sure it’s the right one). Sounds good doesn’t it…well recently, no. Players have been experiencing problems connecting to online Ranked Matches (the only form of match where you can cash-out). Instead of slicing the undead up for the green, players have been presented with error messages, preventing them from even entering a Ranked Match, let alone cashing-out of one. Fear not, Zombrex hunters! Today, Blue Castle released a patch for Dead Rising 2 that seems to have solved the Ranked Match connection problem. Now you can go head-to-head with zombrex hunters from around the world and cash-out those Zombrex vouchers! Again…take your time when selecting what save-slot to cash-out to…believe us… Whatcha waiting for…get online and get that green!...

New Duke Nukem Forever Screenshots!

As the hype surrounding Duke Nukem Forever thickens, we can’t help but add to the bubbling broth as we unleash some new in-game screenshots! Some are from movies you may have seen (but with much better quality), most will be completely new, but a fair-few will also give-away some gameplay elements! Duke Nukem Forever – Effects, locations and big-ass aliens! Lets start off with a shot you may be familiar with. The locations and enemies duke faces have been spread all over the net, by both 3D Realms ex-employees and Gearbox. Do we care? No… because the rain effects, stadium, big-ass enemy and even Duke Nukem’s gloves, look freakin’ awesome!: We were all teased with Duke Nukem Forever casino screenshots and vidz, as far back as 1999! However, the following pic is from the updated game and we believe this shot is of Duke Nukem’s mansion! We’ve also heard that the pool table in the shot below, is fully playable!: Want to see a location prepped for blood, sweat and cool one-liners? The mine is a location that’s popped up allot over the past few weeks. The scenery and textures look great, but we fear a lack of strip-clubs and adult shops! Hmmm…maybe Duke will figure something out… Lets explore those mines more closely and even get a peek at a partial HUD. We can make out an ammo and explosive meter and also an ego meter, (nice touch Gearbox) but there seems to be something representing dukes shades, to the lower left of the screen. Does this mean that Duke can take off and put on his shades at will? Could it even mean they even play a part in Duke Nukem Forever’s gameplay, with possible modifications?: Our next shot sees Duke dealing out some “whop-ass”, but without the explosives and big-ass guns. Dukes now using the environment...
